With over thirty years of experience in real estate, Doug has had a varied career in virtually all aspects of the real estate industry. He has a strong background in business with an emphasis on Management, Sales, Financing, Leadership, and Team building. Doug brings this business approach to the sale of homes while working with both sellers and buyers. His approach is to provide information to the client by providing historical trends along with information on the future direction of the market. “It really isn’t so much about what the property is worth today, but what will the property be worth in 6 months or 6 years that is important to sellers and buyers.”
Doug was President and Owner of Treadwell Real Estate Company in Wyandotte, Michigan, the Company specialized in brokerage and development of Commercial, Residential and Investment Real Estate, primarily in Michigan and the upper Midwest, projects ranged from commercial, office and industrial parks to golf course and residential subdivision projects. The residential development aspects of the company included the construction and development of over 1,000 single-family homes and condominiums.
As founder of Treadwell Golf Associates, Doug expanded the company to include management, design and construction of golf courses and ultimately employed over 300 full and part-time employees. Doug successfully designed and developed several Golf courses in the Midwest, including Sanctuary Lakes Golf Course for the City of Troy, Michigan and Copper Ridge Golf Club in Davison, Michigan.
In 2009 Doug and his wife Monica moved to Naples, Florida and began a career in the luxury residential market quickly becoming one of the top agents with the John R Wood, Properties and ultimately being invited to join the Board of Directors for the company in 2014 as one of the top 12 agents of over 300 agents in the company.
In 2015 Doug began researching the Western mountain of North Carolina for a new home to escape the summer heat of Southwest Florida and settled on the Highlands Plateau as the perfect spot. Several of his clients also asked about a summer location and to help serve these clients, Doug has associated with Highlands Sotheby’s International Realty for the North Carolina market and continues to serve his Naples, Florida Clients with the John R Wood, Properties company.
